Drun Carinwick was training to become a Jedi Knight when the Empire took control of the galaxy. From the small, backwater planet of Adalron, Drun was a staunch Alliance supporter and led much of the resistance against the Empire in the Minos Cluster. During the Jedi Purge, Drun returned to his homeworld to hide from Emperor Palpatine and his minions.

There, Drun told the Adalron natives of the many atrocities of the Empire and incited them to rebel against Imperial control. This however resulted in a group of stromtroopers seeking him out in his headquarters. Able to hide from the Imperials for another few years and fighting for the Rebel Alliance, Cairnwick was captured shortly after the Battle of Yavin and sent the the Imperial prison world of Gesaril.

However, while there, Cairnwick kept up the fight rallying support for the Alliance in the prison and managed to rescue a group of Alliance prisoners-of-war before stormtroopers could quell the uprising. Even under the direst conditions, Drun Cairnwick stayed true to the Jedi beliefs and continued the fight against the Dark Side.
